Your wedding
stays yours.

We built My Wedding Planner to keep one wedding calmly in one place — not to mine it. No advertising, no selling your data, no third-party tracking. This page sets out exactly what we collect, why, and how to ask us to delete it.

Who we are

The people behind this policy.

My Wedding Planner is operated by My Wedding Planner (“we”, “us”), the data controller for this installation. It is a self-hosted wedding planning platform: a single place where a couple and the people they invite — partner, planner, family, wedding party and vendors — plan one wedding together. This policy explains how we handle the information you give us when you use the web app and the iOS app.

If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at [email protected].

Section 01

The information we collect.

Only what the product needs to work. We never ask for more than the planning itself requires, and most of it is data you choose to enter.

01 Collected

Account details

Your name, email address, an optional phone number and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.

02 Collected

Wedding & planning data

Everything you build inside the app: your wedding details, checklist, budget figures and payment schedules, vendor records and contracts, seating charts, timeline and inspiration notes.

03 Collected

Guest information

Guests you add — names, contact details, RSVP responses, dietary requirements and answers to your custom RSVP questions. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to hold details about the people you invite.

04 Collected

Uploaded photos & files

Images and files you or your guests upload — inspiration imagery, a public wedding website, and guest photo galleries. These are stored on the disk the operator has configured (local storage or a Cloudflare R2 bucket).

05 Collected

Imported phone contacts

On the mobile app only, and only with your explicit permission, contacts you choose to import to build your guest list. We import the names and details of the contacts you select. We never read your whole address book.

06 Collected

Technical & usage data

Basic information needed to run the service securely: your IP address, session and authentication tokens, and standard server logs. We do not load advertising or third-party analytics trackers.

Section 02

Used only to run the service — never to advertise, never to sell, never to track you across the web.

We use your information for one purpose: to provide the planning tools you signed up for. That means displaying your wedding, sending the emails you ask us to send, and keeping your account secure.

  • Operate the planning features — checklist, budget, guests, seating, vendors, timeline, website and photo sharing.
  • Send transactional email you trigger: account verification, password resets, collaborator invitations, RSVP confirmations and save-the-dates or invitations.
  • Keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and diagnose problems.
  • Meet our legal and accounting obligations.

We do not sell or rent your data, show you advertising, or build a profile of you to follow you around the internet. Your wedding data is not used to train any unrelated product.

Section 03

The few partners we rely on.

A short list of service providers. Each is used only for its specific job, and given no more than that job requires.

Email provider Delivery

Transactional emails are sent through the email provider the operator has configured (Resend or an SMTP service). They process the recipient address and message only to deliver it.

Hosting & storage Infrastructure

The app and uploaded files live on the server and storage the operator runs — local disk or a Cloudflare R2 bucket. This stays within the operator’s own infrastructure.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users and the service. Aside from the providers above and the collaborators you yourself invite to a wedding, we do not share your information with anyone.

Section 04

Kept while you need it. Erased when you don’t.

We keep your account and wedding data for as long as your account is active, so the plan is there whenever you return to it. When you ask us to delete it, we remove it.

Retention

Active account data is retained for as long as you keep your account. We may keep limited records where law requires it.

Security

Passwords are hashed, sensitive tokens are hashed, and operator credentials are encrypted at rest. Access to your wedding is gated by role-based permissions you control.

Your guests

You are the steward of the guest details you enter. Remove a guest and their record is deleted from your wedding.

On deletion

When you delete your account or wedding, the associated records and uploaded files are removed from the operator’s storage.

Section 05

Your rights over your data.

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights. To exercise any of them, write to us and we will respond within the time your local law requires.

Access

Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

Correction

Ask us to fix anything inaccurate, or edit it yourself in the app.

Deletion

Ask us to erase your account and the data tied to it.

Export

Request a copy of your data in a portable form.

Object & restrict

Object to, or ask us to limit, certain processing.

Withdraw consent

Withdraw permission you gave — for example, contact import on mobile.

Section 06

How to request deletion.

You can delete your account and its data yourself, at any time, from inside the app. No retention games, no hidden hoops, no need to contact us.

  1. 01

    Open your profile

On the web, go to Profile and scroll to the Delete Account section. On the mobile app, open More → Settings and find the Account section.

  2. 02

    Confirm it’s you

Re-enter your password (and, on the web, type “delete”) so no one else can erase your account from an open session.

  3. 03

    It’s deleted immediately

We permanently remove your account, every wedding you own, your planning and guest data and uploaded files from the operator’s storage, keeping only what law strictly requires.

  4. 04

    Prefer us to do it?

You can still email [email protected] from the address on your account and we’ll delete it for you.

Children

The service is for adults planning a wedding and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of majority where they live.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date, so check back occasionally.
