What is the traditional gift for each wedding anniversary?
Traditional gifts run from paper for the first anniversary through wood at five, tin at ten and crystal at fifteen, up to the big milestones — silver at twenty-five, ruby at forty, gold at fifty and diamond at sixty. What is the difference between traditional and modern anniversary gifts?
The traditional list is the older, well-known sequence (paper, cotton, leather and so on). The modern list was introduced later to offer alternatives — for example, clocks for the first year instead of paper. Many couples pick whichever appeals more, or mix the two.
What are the milestone wedding anniversaries?
